Let’s Talk About “Bridezilla”

We’ve all heard the term bridezilla.

It usually gets tossed around as a joke—but honestly, it doesn’t always feel very funny.

Recently, we came across an article from The Arc Report called “A Psychological Inquest Into the Mindset of ‘Bridezilla’”, and it really resonated with us.

Here’s the Short Version

The article talks about something we see all the time: wedding planning isn’t just planning a party. It’s a huge life transition. You’re making decisions, managing expectations, and navigating emotions—all while being surrounded by so many opinions.

So when a bride feels overwhelmed, emotional, or extra sensitive? That’s not someone being difficult. That’s someone under a lot of pressure.

A lot of what gets labeled as “bridezilla behavior” is really just stress showing up in different ways.

Why This Hit Home for Us

At Barbara Kavchok Bridal, we work closely with brides during this exact season of life. And what we’ve learned is that when someone feels supported and understood, everything gets easier—choosing a dress, trusting the process, even enjoying the moment.

Our team brings years of professional experience in couture design, garment construction, fit, and alterations, and we are involved in every stage of the process from beginning to end. Because each gown is designed and made in our Historic Bethlehem studio, we have a deep understanding of both the technical and emotional aspects of this journey. This level of hands-on expertise allows us to guide brides with clarity and care, anticipate challenges before they arise, and create an experience rooted in confidence and trust.

Just a Little Reminder

If you’re a bride: You’re allowed to feel a lot!

You’re not “too much,” and you don’t have to have it all figured out.

We loved this article because it reminds us to give each other a little more grace—especially during such meaningful moments in life.

If you’re in the middle of planning and feeling overwhelmed, just know—you’re not alone.
